I was not happy with my testing experience. Who do I talk to?

During the month following your test appointment, you will receive an email invitation to share your views on your PTE Academic test journey.

If you are unsatisfied with your testing experience, you can contact the PTE Help Centre at https://www.pearsonpte.com/help-center and send a message to NETC by emailing info@navitastesting.com.

Who recognises PTE Academic?

PTE Academic is recognised globally for academic entrance by over 3,500 institutions worldwide. PTE Academic is accepted by all universities in Australia and New Zealand, 98% of universities in the United Kingdom and a large number of institutions in Canada and the USA.

PTE Academic is recognised by Australia’s Department of Home Affairs (DHA) for all visa categories including skilled migration. PTE Academic is also accepted in Australia by a growing number of employers and professional associations.

Booking and Payment

How do I register for a PTE Academic test?

The test booking and payment is done online on the Pearson PTE website https://www.pearsonpte.com/. Click on Book a test to create a myPTE account and then select the venue and date for your test. You cannot book a test by contacting the test centre.

How do I check test dates and session availability?

You can find venues and available test sessions by clicking Check test availability on the Pearson PTE home page https://www.pearsonpte.com/ .

Can I book over the counter or by telephone with a Navitas English Test Centre?

No. Navitas English Test Centre administers the test on test day; all account registrations, bookings and payments are managed online on the Pearson PTE website https://www.pearsonpte.com/ .

How much does the PTE Academic cost?

As at February 2025, the cost of the PTE Academic exam in Australia is $475 AUD.

I didn’t get the score I need, how do I reschedule?

If you did not receive the score you need, you can schedule another test on the Pearson website. Please note that you cannot register for another test until you have received the score for your previous test.

How can I prepare for PTE Academic?

Is PTE Academic recognised by Department of Home Affairs (DHA)?

Yes. PTE Academic is recognised by DHA. For details, see the English language visa requirements on the DHA website https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/meeting-our-requirements/english-language

On test day

What time should I arrive at the test venue?

You should arrive at the test centre at least 30 minutes before your scheduled test time.

What can I use as ID for my test?

You must provide an acceptable identification document (ID). For most test takers, the only ID NETC can accept is a valid passport. If you are an Australian citizen, we can accept a current Driver Licence if you are unable to provide a valid passport.

Can I take a break during the test?

There is no scheduled break during the test.

You may take an unscheduled break if you need to. However, the exam clock will not be stopped.

During an unscheduled break you are not allowed to access your locker, leave the test area or speak to another candidate.

What if I am sick on the test day?

If you are ill on the test day and are unable to sit the test, please contact the PTE Help Centre as soon as possible. They will advise you about the options for rescheduling your test. Call 1800 729 282, or contact them through your myPTE account.

Results

When will I get my test results?

Results will typically be available within 48 hours of your test, but may take up to 5 business days.

What if I have not received my results?

Your results will typically be available within five business days of your test date. When your results are ready, you will receive an email notification from Pearson telling you how to view your score via your Pearson web account. If for any reason there is a delay in your results, Pearson will contact you directly.

I don’t understand my test results?

I have received my score but have not received my certificate. When will I receive my certificate?

Pearson does not issue paper certificates or paper score reports for PTE Academic. You can send your score to your chosen institution(s) and government bodies through your myPTE online account. Only scores assigned in this way are considered to be valid.
